This course is designed for all skill levels, from beginners with no prior patternmaking experience to experienced sewists looking to refine their techniques.
For sewing, you'll need a sewing machine, serger (optional), Jersey (stretch) sewing machine needle, Twin needle (optional), scissors, iron, marking tools. You'll also need T-shirt suitable fabrics and threads. For patternmaking, you'll need a measuring tape, long ruler, ruler with 90 degree angle, curve ruler (optional), paper and pencil. For all needed tools and supplies, and how to choose them - watch 'Tools, fabrics and supplies', that are available in free preview!
The course is self-paced, so take as much time as needed! Dedicating a few evenings per week, you'll be able to complete this course and sew your first T-shirt in 2 weeks!
You will learn to make various styles of T-shirts, to suit different fit and style preferences. You'll learn how to make fitted and relaxed fit silhouettes; draft and sew round neckline, V-shape neckline and concealed finish neckline; sew straight-cut hem and curved hem; as well as two options for neckline seam covers. Choose fit and design elements that best suit your preferences!

Absolutely! The skills you learn in this course will enable you to create custom-fitted T-shirts for yourself and others.
Yes! In this course, I suggest 3 stitch options: using a serger (overlocker); using elastic (stretch) stitches on sewing machine; and straight-stitch finishes using elastic thread. Whichever machine you have, you'll be able to complete this course!
